Job Description
Position Overview
The Clinical Nurse Specialist of Critical Care assesses, plans, implements and, evaluates an effective orientation program for newly hired nurses within the critical care area. Responsibilities include analyzing, interpreting, advising and consulting with staff and other health care professionals to provide high quality, exceptional care. To elevate clinical practice, the CNS will also provide consultation and guidance regarding pertinent patient care processes to all levels of the critical care nursing staff. This position reports to the director of critical care and has a dotted-line reporting relationship with the director of education.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years of clinical experience in critical care nursing, as well as a background in staff education and development. BSN degree is required; a Master’s degree and CNS licensure are preferred.

This is a 200-bed, privately owned, not-for-profit, Joint Commission accredited medical center providing tertiary level services, including medical, surgical and pediatric care along with cardiac, neonatal and intensive care units. Specialty centers provide cancer, joint care, diagnostic imaging and eye surgery. The hospital also provides an emergency department, rehabilitation, hospice, and lifeline services.
