Job Description
Come join our ICU Team at Carolinas Medical Center. Currently we have FT and weekend openings in our Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, Trauma ICU and Neuro-Surgical ICU. Our brand new ICU Tower will be completed in October!
Medical Intensive Care Unit- A fast paced, team oriented 19 bed ICU caring for multi-disciplinary critically ill patients. Nurses are required to have knowledge of ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring and vaso-active IV drips.
Surgical Intensive Care Unit- The SICU is an 8 bed unit with a 1-2 patient ratio and a dedicated orientation program. SICU specializes in immunotherapy and caring for liver transplant patients.
Trauma Intensive Care Unit- The TICU specializes in the complex care of the trauma patient. Their injuries range from Closed Head Injuries to Chest/Abdominal Trauma to multiple orthopedic injuries. It is a dedicated, team oriented and fast paced 10 bed unit with 4 private isolation rooms. Nurses learn strong prioritizing, time management, and assessment skills. Nurses work closely with the Trauma Team to ensure constant and accurate communication and care.
Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit-NSICU is a 13 bed critical care unit focusing on surgically managed, neurological illnesses and/or injuries. NSICU is the preferred intensive care unit to care for both “Code Stroke” and SCI patients. Nurses are required to have knowledge of ICP and hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and vaso-active drips. We have strong teamwork and commitment to provide optimal care to our patients and their families.
