Job Description
Individual, specialized care for newborns, with a focus on the entire family, is available at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Saint Joseph''s Hospital. The unit provides state-of-the-art equipment, and a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses and other staff to treat newborns who require intensive care.
Essential Duties
-Provides and manages care at the point of care to individuals, clinical populations and communities in multiple settings including virtual settings.
-Uses appropriate teaching principles and strategies as well as current information, materials and technologies to teach client groups and other health care professionals.
-Establish evidence-based practices to identify patterns and modify interventions to meet specific needs of individuals, clinical populations or communities.
-40 HPW/DAYS
-Education: Minimum education requirement is a Masters Degree in Nursing from a program that prepares APN graduates and with emphasis in the clinical specialty
-Education: Clinical Nurse Specialist program preferred
-Experience: 2 years of current practice in specialty area
-Experience: Experience working with populations and population outcomes preferred
-Licensure: Registered Nurse licensed by the State of Wisconsin (or reciprocal state)
-Certification: Certification as a CNS in the designated specialty is required to use the title of Clinical Nurse Specialist unless a specialty exam is not available. If no exam is available in the designated specialty area, a waiver of this requirement must be obtained
-Certification: National certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in the designated specialty area is required when an exam is available for the specialty
Certification: National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the designated specialty is required to use the title of Nurse Practitioner
