Job Description

This Nurse Manager is responsible to the Director of Patient Care Services. Provides leadership in a manner consistent with the corporate mission, values, and philosophy. Allocates available resources to promote efficient, effective, and compassionate nursing care, provides input into executive-level decisions, and keeps staff informed of executive-level activities.

The Nurse Manager coordinates activities between defined areas, and provides clinical and administrative leadership and expertise. He/She facilitates an atmosphere of interactive management and develops collegial relationships among nursing personnel and others. Serves as a link between nursing personnel and other health care disciplines throughout Saint Joseph’s Hospital. The Nurse Manager has major responsibility for the implementation of the vision, mission, strategic plans, and standards of the organization and nursing services within the defined area(s) of responsibility. The Nurse Manager is accountable for the environment in which clinical nursing is practiced.

This position will normally be scheduled 40 HPW on day shift, but may be required to work additional hours as needed.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Education: BSN Required, Masters Degree Preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 4 years critical care experience required.
Experience: Leadership/management experience preferred.
Licensure: Current license in the State of Wisconsin as a Registered Nurse required.
Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
