Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Educator for our Critical Care Department. The Clinical Educator will provide clinical leadership to associates in the critical care department through educational and developmental opportunities. You will increase the level of staff competency and improve the quality of patient care at Advocate Trinity Hospital. This position partners with colleagues to coordinate delivery of high quality educational activities throughout Trinity Hospital. The Critical Care Educator will have the opportunity to effectively utilize knowledge, skill and professional attitude to serve as a champion in staff development (orientation, inservice education and continuing education). They will develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate staff development programs and provide clinical, educational, and consultative leadership and support to the nursing staff, patients, physicians and ancillary health care associates as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•BS/BSN
•3 years experience in acute care
•2 years experience as a registered nurse in intensive care
•1 year of experience in providing clinical educational offerings
•ACLS (must obtain within 6 months of hire).
•Current professional nurses license in Illinois
•Demonstrated self-direction, problem solving, and multitasking skills
•Excellent skills in oral and written communication
•Effective teaching skills and knowledge of adult learning principles
•Ability to work all shifts for in-services
•Able to travel to other Advocate sites to gain resources or educational information to utilize at Trinity
Advocate Trinity Hospital is a 250-bed facility, offering a full range of inpatient and outpatient services, as well as a variety of community outreach programs.
